Trudy Gallagher is the visionary proprietress of Bejewel by Trudy Gallagher, located at 540 Queen Street, which features not only the production studio for Bejewel but also a beautiful, funky Gallery specializing in One of a Kind and Limited Edition jewellery and unique accessories. Custom designed, hand built jewellery created specifically for and with individual clients by inviting the client's participation in the design process is Bejewel's specialty.
Bejewel has evolved from a one woman business in Trudy's basement, to an award winning studio with a fan base that spreads coast to coast in Canada, select locations in the United States and some international sales. Ganong, the famous candy maker from New Brunswick, honoured Bejewel by selecting Bejewel's Bon-bon glass bead jewellery set to be the top 5 prizes for the launch of their new candy Fruitfull: Bold and Inspired. The Philadelphia Museum's 31st Annual Art Craft Show of 2007 selected Bejewel as one of Canada's 24 invited artisans to be highlighted at the show as an International Guest Artisan.
Having lived and traveled all across Canada, Trudy is very proud to call Fredericton her home base for herself and her business. In an age when the market is being flooded by imports and many Canadian designers are opening factories and studios off shore, Trudy is committed to keeping her business in Canada, in Fredericton. She is committed to proving that you can have a viable career in the Arts and Crafts business and is immensely proud of her talented artisans who work with her at Bejewel. She is determined to make Bejewel not only a great business, but a great place to work, and is very proud that Bejewel has recently become the latest member of the ECONOMUSEE Network.
